What, Why and How of the Seed Cards
Seed Cards are included with every purchase of the Limited edition Udaan piece. You may be wondering what the backstory behind the Seed Cards is.
Why the 'Seed Card'?
Given that so much of our work is inspired by nature, we thought of experiementing with seed cards as a way to honor some of what has been shared with us. And further reflect on what it means to give as we continue to take - to celebrate our co- existance with these fascinating yet complicated beings of nature and the endless knowledge they continue to share.
What is a 'Seed Card'?
Seed cards are a recycled form of paper, embedded with seeds. Although the card itself is already biodegradable, the seeds within it make it plantable.
Finally, How do you plant a 'Seed Card'?
Lets walk through how to get your very own plant started!:
Step 1: Prepare your pot! It is recommended to use a pot with holes at the bottom in order to allowthe seed to germinate. Fill your pot about 2/3 full, pressing a bit to make sure it is firmly full - but not too packed!
Step 2: Place your seed card on top of the soil and cover with an extra 1/8 inch of soil. You can place your pot either indoors or outdoors, but we recommend avoiding any extreme weather during the germination period.
Step 3: Lets start growing! Once the card has been planted, thoroughly dampen the soil (be careful at this step - no floaty bits!) and keep the paper moist at all times during the first 10 days.
Step 4: Once the seeds begin to sprout, continue watering the pot and keep the paper moist, but be careful not to overwater.
Step 5: Your plant is here!! Continue watering your plant as needed and watch your baby plant grow!
